Magazine: Stahlbau
Issue: February 2005
Apart from a number of other questions about powder coating of steel, this seminar that is currently prepared by ENVIRAL GmbH deals with the methods of steel surface finishing, the corrosion protection classes that can be achieved with powder coating and details that have to be taken into account during the construction of steel buildings. This one-day event titled “Powder Coating in Steel Construction Engineering – From Construction to Final Inspection” scheduled to take place in mid-June, aims at constructing engineers, project managers, purchaser as well as decision-makers in steel and metal constructional engineering companies. Participation in this seminar is free of charge. Detailed information on the presented topics, the time and place of the event will be announced in the next issue of the magazine “Stahlbau”. Potential participants are asked to directly contact the firm ENVIRAL. The number of participants is limited, therefore guests will receive personal invitations. We ask for your contact/registration at the earliest possible convenience.
The ENVIRAL® Oberflächenveredelung GmbH, which has been active as recognised powder coating company for facades and structural engineering at its location at Niemegk (state of Brandenburg, close to the BAB 9, approximately 25 km south of the Berliner Ring) since 1996, has recently extended its range of services. Since September 2004, 13—long constructional components with a weight of 6,000 kg per item and maximum dimensions of h = 3.60 and w = 2.50 can be pre-treated and coated automatically or manually in a comprehensive large part powder coating plant covering an area of 1.800m².
With this new plant, ENVIRAL responds to a new trend in steel construction engineering: On the one hand, demands are increasing with regard to the optical and qualitative properties of coated surfaces. On the other hand, current and expected future environmental regulations for the operation of wet coating plants are also of great significance. First objects like e.g. steel constructions for a mobile exhibition system, elevator shaft frames, solid web girders, light poles, steel window systems or balconies have already been processed in the new production plant. Other projects like e.g. the powder coating of steel constructions for a steel-glass roof or a sports hall are currently being realised or prepared in close co-operation with architects, steel construction engineers and project managers.
